HURTING PEOPLE NEED THE GOSPEL

Last night, Linda, my wife, and I were at Waterford Park on a date. We sat and prayed and then went on a walk around the park. Before leaving, we stopped at the restrooms. It was there that I met Bill, the park cleaning/maintenance man. I asked him some questions about his job and his life. Before you know it, Bill was, with tears, telling Linda and me about the death of his mother--whom he had cared for the last 14 years. He was not a believer, but his heart was so tender. Linda and I were moved with compassion, just by hearing his story. This opened the door for us to proclaim Jesus Christ to Bill. Providentially, he had just picked up a book by Phillip Yancey about the gospel. Why? He saw it at Sam's Club and it was only $2.99! The conversation with Bill was amazing. We urged him to call out to Jesus, and we prayed for him. When we left, as he walked off, he said, again with tears, that this was no accident we had met him there. He was so right. Linda and I intend to be back in touch with Bill. He is all alone in life, so needy. If you remember to pray for him, please do.
Why do I share this? Simply because, there are "Bills" everywhere you go. God so wants us to be on the look out, and He wants us to be prepared to preach Jesus to them, with compassion.
