UP AND RUNNING!

Here it is—at long last—Making the Gospel Known Ministries’ Blog Site!

Greetings to all those interested in interacting about getting the glorious gospel out to as many as we can before it is too late.

What will matter 150 years from now? I read this question from author, Mark Cahill a few weeks ago. What a question! What a face to face reality check! Don’t you agree?

People are dying at an astonishing rate—approximately 150,000 each day. Are you and I as concerned with the eternal state of these people’s souls as we ought to be? How can we grow in compassion? How can we reach these people? How can we, in the midst of such busy lives, have our hearts and minds more focused on what WILL matter in 150 years?

On this site, we want to deal with such issues. We also want to consider how parents can impact their children’s hearts for eternity? As important as material provision, health, education, and psychological development are for our children, what will matter in their lives in 150 years?

As the founder of Making the Gospel Known Ministries, I want to encourage thinking and dialogue on this site. I welcome you and hope you will regularly check in with us. Please spend some time exploring the site. If our ministry can serve you in any way, let us know!

God bless,

Chris Peeler

Emergency! Emergency!

Let me ask you a question, by first painting a familiar picture. You are driving down the road. You are late for an appointment, probably going faster than you should be. Maybe you are weaving in and out of traffic. Suddenly you hear the siren. You look up in your mirror, and you see the lights flashing. It’s an ambulance, and he’s coming really fast. What do you do? Of course, you pull to the side of the road, as do all the other drivers. There is an EMERGENCY. Someone could be dying. This takes precedence over what, just a moment ago, seemed monumental in importance. What changed? You got perspective by the siren and the flashing lights and what they signaled to you.

Now, speaking of perspective, consider these words from AW Tozer:
In the times of extraordinary crisis, ordinary measures will not suffice. The world lives in such a time of crisis. Christians alone are in a position to rescue the perishing. We dare not settle down to try to live as if things were “normal.” Nothing is normal while sin and lust and death roam the world, pouncing upon one and another till the whole population has been destroyed.

Wouldn’t you agree? Oh, gracious Father in heaven, help us see and feel the reality of the EMERGENCY this world is in. Help us to realize that, eternally speaking, sirens are sounding and lights are flashing all around us. Please move us to compassion and to action!
